Community Development Programme underway in Chandroti Gram Sabha includes components like Solar Street Lighting; School Upgradation, Cleaning, Beautification and Landscaping; Health Awareness Camps, Nutritional Supplementation, Skills Enhancement and Garbage management
Dehradun, May 6th, 2016: District Magistrate, Shri Ravinath Raman, inaugurated the ‘Chandroti Gram Sabha Development Programme’ a comprehensive community engagement initiative undertaken by Antara Senior Living and Max India Foundation (MIF) in Chandroti Gram Sabha, Purukul.
The project area covers four villages in the Gram Sabha namely, Chandroti, Jamoliwala, Guniyal Gaon and Saloniwala with a total population of approximately 1,064.
The programme is aimed at promoting a holistic development of the area with a focus on physical and social infrastructure, including activities such as setting up of an audio-visual facility in the local Guniyal Inter College as well as qualitative inputs for life-skills enhancement; environmental upgradation and community health interventions. Special attention will be given to sanitation and nutritional enhancement.
Since the past two years, an MIF Health Center supported by Max Hospital has been operational in Purukul. Under the Chandroti Development Programme, additional health and nutrition interventions will be implemented using this Centre as a base.
Inaugurating the programme, Shri Ravinath Raman, District Magistrate, said, “I’m very happy to see Antara Senior Living’s commitment to the community. This project will go a long way in enhancing the all-round development in this area. It would be great if other corporates similarly emulate their example.”
