Max India Foundation through its program on Support for Surgeries and Treatment has helped critically ill under privileged patients by giving them care and treatment at our state of the art Max Hospitals.
Initiatives
Rajvinder Singh from Faridkot sticks number plates and makes a monthly income of Rs 3000 – Rs 4000 to support a family of 5 members. His wife, Baljeet Kaur was expecting their second child. Unfortunately, the child developed respiratory distress and had neo-natal jaundice at the time of birth. MIF came on board to provide treatment support to the baby at Max Hospital, Bhatinda. With timely care, a precious life was saved and the child was discharged after few days.
Abu is a lively 4.5 year old boy from Madipura district in Bihar. Abu would often have breathlessness, slow growth and suffered from cold and cough; symptoms typical of children suffering from congenital heart problem. With our support, the surgery was successfully done to close the hole in the heart and also repair the fused arteries.
Mohd Akbar Khan, at 9 months had an episode of meningitis/facial palsy resulting in partial hearing loss. With no means to finance his treatment, Akbar’s hearing loss could not be treated. Till recently when his parents got in touch with us for help. We immediately came on board and helped Akbar undergo a successful Cochlear Impla.
Irfaan, a class 3rd student is the youngest of the 4 siblings. His father Mohd Asraf works as a daily wage worker in village Birampur in Bihar. Irfan had a tumour growth in the leg which was non metastatic and local, hence the chances of survival and complete cure was very high. Without any further delay, MIF came on board to support. The surgery was successfully completed and currently he is finishing his last two cycles of chemotherapy. Irfaan has responded well to the treatment. He is feeling much better now and is looking forward to go back to his home town to be with his brother and sisters.
Anvesha – 7yr old from Delhi is suffering from Wilm’s Tumour. In Feb 2016 she was operated for tumour removal. The reports were clear and she was confirmed free of the disease. Unfortunately in Nov 2017 the symptoms reappeared. With our support, she is undergoing radiotherapy at Max Hospital, Saket and has responded well to the treatment.
Life was never easy for Gulnaz and her family hailing from Uttrakhand. Her father, Sarfaraaz works as a daily wage earner. In 2014, Gulnaz [then 17 years old girl] was about to complete her 12th standard when she became a victim of acid attack. She needed a series of surgeries which were supported by MIF at Max Hospital, Dehradun and the surgery was successfully done in Oct 2015. Yet gain in May 2017, MIF again came forward to help her father get treated for a heart problem at Max Hospital, Patparganj.
Vedansh is a lovely 4-year-old boy from Champawat, Uttarakhand. In April 2017, he got admission in Nursery and was happy to go to school and play with his friends. His father Mahinder works as a school teacher and mother is a housewife. In Sept 2017, Vedansh had fever and he was put on medication On 3rd Oct, 2017 the family were shocked to know that Vedansh was suffering from ALL. On understanding about the family weak financial condition, MIF assured help of 3 lakhs which brought lot of relief to the family. The father is extremely grateful to MIF for the timely help. Vedansh has responding well to the treatment.
